Raspberry Pi 5 Ready!

Raspberry Pi Foundation has announced the availability of their latest flagship product, Raspberry Pi 5. This new model has undergone numerous improvements and enhancements in its software stack, image signal processor, and the overall architecture of the platform.

The Raspberry Pi 5 also features the RP1 I/O controller and comes with some of the official accessories including a case, and an updated Power-over-Ethernet (PoE+) HAT that is soon to be released.

The manufacturing and production test processes for the Raspberry Pi 5 have been carried out in conjunction with the Sony UK Technology Centre in Wales, where all Raspberry Pi units are produced. The first mass-production units are set to be shipped to customers soon. Initial shipments will be sent to subscribers of The MagPi and HackSpace magazines, who have utilized the Priority Boarding promotion.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation expects all Priority Boarding orders to be fulfilled soon. Approved Resellers in countries where compliance paperwork has been approved by the authorities will receive the initial stock of both 4GB and 8GB variants. Customers who have pre-ordered can expect to see their packages arriving shortly.

The Foundation is working to increase the production rate with the goal of fulfilling all backorders and stocking Raspberry Pi units at all Approved Resellers by the end of the year. By that time, customers should be able to buy the Raspberry Pi 5 straight off the shelf.

The response from early users of Raspberry Pi 5 has been positive, and the Raspberry Pi Foundation is excited to see what users will be able to accomplish with their new units.
